I keep hoping..

I keep hoping that someone is going to take a little time to share something, anything with the rest of us. I log on and... nothing still. I guess febuary has taken us by surprise! Dad's 61st birthday is just around the corner- monday. Followed by Seena's and then Isa's I believe. Aren't birthdays fun? I just read in a magazine- an ad for something though I don't recall what- it read, "Who needs birthdays? Just celebrate the cake." I thought it could be made into a cute card for the right person.
Speaking of cute homeade cards, both Ivy and Isa used their cute maker skills this valentines.
As long as we are speaking of cuteness... both Ekik and Ali have begun crawling and Amaya was so excited about her letters and their sounds that she even showed off for Mark and I. I guess she was performing and it ws more the Boy and Isa showing off. I can't think of a better thing to show off!
The construction of the chicken house is moving right along. Dad says that he learned a lot about building it the last time. I think he would be all ready to build 41/2 too.
I'm also excited for when Jennifer and Michael post about their remoldeling! There has been fixing and painting and buying and planting and lighting and recovering!
Ivy has quite the turtle habitat to share with us and even provided our own live in turtle hider with a few minnows- or do I have guppies? Hider does not eat them...yet, but they do add some excitement to the tank.
Mom and Dad just went to uncle Llyod's funeral and if you haven't talked to them about it yet- you should. Mom is also a very good example of a dedicated missionary. While I am reminded of it we should also really consider stretching a bit to give away those special ensigns as gifts.
Annie looks really cute in her various nursing duds and should share them too.
I am particulary grateful to Alison for sharing with baby girl and to Isa and Jennifer for sharing with her mommy. Also to the Davenports for sending the fun filled package who's contents are being viewed as I exercise the treadmill. I find that if my mind is not thinking about it I don't mind so much the swinging of arms and legs. Also, I can't tell much of a difference- meaning I don't get any more tired- walking with a steep incline. The machine tells me it burns more calories. I also don't get so impatient waiting for the coffee cake to cook cause I use the treadmill as a timer as well.
Well, I will continue to hope and look and visit here.
Love,
Elisabeth

Well, Oregon is a nice place for kids to grow up. A half inch of show fell last night and school is postponed for two hours and kindergarten is canceled. It wasn't even icy, just slush. Wade is having fun, he misses school a little.

Today Sherwin is having a Chinese New Year celebration with his bear scouts, soooo, since I helped do all the research and I will have Darian and Wade to entertain, I will be doing tiger scout activites with them celebrating a chinese new year. We will balance buckets, make hats, and eat fortune cookies.

We had excitment last sunday morning. We woke to a tree fallen just outside our bedroom window. It fell away from the house or you would have heard from us in other ways before this. It was a lovely pine tree. Darian and I counted the rings, 38 years young. It was a large tree, but with no good reason to fall over. We didn't have that much rain. I hope our luck holds out with the ceders right out the back and if they do fall while they are here I hope they fall down hill and away from the house.

Wade says, well.... mama.. uhhhuuhgh...mama I didn't want to say that. I am not telling you anything unless you erase all of that. I made a pinewood derby car. And I raced it at the pinewood derby race. It was great because I liked it. And mama was there too and I liked her. My car went great, it was the best one but it didn't go off of the track. My pinewood derby car was blue with sparkles on it and I put a red firebird on it and it was number 98, but in the race it was 1. And that's all I want to say.

Since I don't have any more pictures to share. Here's one of my new hair- a little more red than I would have liked but it is a fun change!

IT"S A ... !!

The moment you all have been waiting for has arrived! Well, I sure have been waiting for it! We are excited to present to you a little being. (yep, it progressed from bean to being!) It was so fun (I got all teary-eyed) as we watched it kick it's feet, put it's hand up to it's mouth to (maybe?) suck it's thumb (we didn't see actual sucking motion quite) and even caught a yawn that was precious (but a bit eeirie in the photo). So, can you tell the gender?

Elisabeth
